Axial Yeti Jr. Can-Am Maverick X3 1/18-scale UTV
The Yeti Jr. has been reborn! After the Rock Racer and SCORE Trophy Truck versions were discontinued, it looked as if Axial was getting out of the small-scale R/C business. Then, out of the blue, they released hints about a new model release with all signs pointing to another small-scale effort.
Say hello to the Axial Yeti Jr. Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo R. Based heavily on the original Yeti Jr. Rock Racer, this model is a licensed replica of the Can-Am Maverick UTV, offering a unique scale vehicle that could act as an ultimate scale accessory for a 1/10-scale R/C rig.
This 1/18-scale replica recreates the same body lines and details found on the 1:1 Maverick X3 and serves as a faithful recreation of the ride-on model. With much of the original Yeti Jr. Rock Racer chassis serving as the platform for this machine, there are some new features such as colored trailing arms, suspension links, and Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires.
Now that Axial is part of the Horizon Hobbies family, new electronic components from Spektrum and Dynamite can be found throughout this model. A Spektrum STX2 transmitter and ESC/receiver combo serve as the control center for this model and a Dynamite 1300mah, NiMh battery pack (with EC3 connector) serves as the power source.
Another spec sheet highlight of the Yeti Jr. Can-Am Maverick X3 is the steering servo. This model features a Spektrum metal gear, micro servo that puts out 34.9oz/in of torque (@ 4.8V) and 41.8oz/in of torque (@6.0V). This is a noticeable difference when compared to the original Yeti Jr. and its 26.5oz/in of torque.
Priced at $149.99, the Axial Yeti Jr. Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo R will be available online and through Axial dealers. Visit axialracing.com to learn more about this small-scale UTV model.
